THIS POSITION IS HYBRID (THREE DAYS IN OFFICE).
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the leadership of the Executive Director (ED), the Development Director (DD) will spearhead development efforts as WRS continues to grow. A new position in the organization, the DD will have the opportunity to build the development function. The DD is responsible for leading all aspects of fundraising and donor engagement to ensure a diversified and sustainable revenue stream for WRS. This includes strategic oversight of grant management, individual and institutional giving, donor cultivation and stewardship, and special event planning. The Director will collaborate across teams to craft compelling proposals and foster meaningful relationships with funders and donors. This role will advance WRS’s mission by aligning fundraising strategy with organizational goals and community impact.

Santa Rosa, CA; Hybrid Role (Three days in office)
YOU ARE
A strategic and mission-driven fundraising leader with a proven track record in building comprehensive development programs that fuel organizational growth.
An experienced grant manager who can navigate the full lifecycle of foundation and institutional funding—from research and writing to compliance and stewardship.
A relationship-builder at heart, skilled in cultivating and sustaining long-term donor partnerships through personalized engagement and compelling storytelling.
A collaborative planner and executor who thrives in cross-functional environments and knows how to align events, campaigns, and stewardship with broader organizational goals.
Data-informed and detail-oriented, leveraging metrics, CRM tools, and performance analysis to continuously refine strategies and drive fundraising success.
SALARY/BENEFITS
Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000
Benefits include:
Stipend up to $400 per month per employee toward medical insurance.

Eight designated holidays.
Ten days of vacation annually.
