POSITION OVERVIEW

The President & CEO is responsible to ensure the Foundation has clear strategic direction, adopts, and implements best practice governance models, is transparent and authentic in operations, adheres to board-approved investment and spending policies, complies with regulatory requirements, applies equitable and objective standards to grantmaking, and in conjunction with the Board of Directors, maintains fiduciary oversight of the organization.  

Together with the Board of Directors, the President & CEO sets direction, strategy, policies, and organizational goals. The President & CEO leads and oversees fundraising strategy, manages workplace and operational tasks, as well as selects, oversees, directs, and evaluates staff. The President & CEO must follow the highest standards of accountability and build internal and external relationships through leadership marked by open communications, commitment to the mission, and ongoing evaluation and assessment.    

In partnership with the Chair of the Board of Directors, the President & CEO supports and monitors board performance, fiduciary oversight, and leadership. With the Chair of the Board of Directors, the President & CEO provides leadership to ensure organizational growth, stability, and mission impact.

SALARY/BENEFITS

  • Salary range is $170,000-$200,000

  • Benefits include:

    • Vacation: Three weeks paid vacation (negotiable).

    • Holidays: 8 paid holidays and additional 5-6 days during Christmas and New Year's Day.

    • Sick Leave: Employees earn ten (10) days of sick leave per year (80 hours). Sick and personal leave are earned at an accrual rate of 3.3 hrs./pay period.  

    • Health and Dental Care: Employer pays full premium for the employee.  Employees may elect to provide coverage for dependents and/or spouse.

    • Vision: Employees may elect to enroll in vision coverage. Premiums are deducted pre-tax from employee’s paycheck once a month; estimated cost is just under $20/month.

    • 403(b) Retirement: HGF will contribute 5% of each employee's gross wage monthly. Employees may elect to make pre-tax contributions as well.

    • Flexible Spending Account: Employees may elect to participate in the FSA which provides a payment option for non-covered medical expenses through pre-tax payroll deductions.
