POSITION OVERVIEW
St. Anthony’s Foundation seeks a strategic, mission-driven Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead all fundraising and donor engagement efforts. As a key member of the Executive Team, the CDO will be a thought partner to the CEO and an architect of fundraising modernization. The CDO will be leading change management efforts following organizational restructuring and a reduction in force.
This is a moment of transformation for St. Anthony’s. The incoming CDO will join a newly aligned executive team and play a pivotal role in shaping a high-performing development function—one rooted in Franciscan values and built for long-term growth. We are seeking a dynamic leader with deep experience across all fundraising channels, a strong grasp of data-informed strategy, and a talent for cultivating meaningful, values-aligned donor relationships. The CDO will inspire others through collaboration, clarity, and a commitment to connecting philanthropy with purpose.

San Francisco, CA (hybrid; one day out of office)

SALARY RANGE: $180,000 to $210,000
Benefits include:
Vacation: Regular full-time employees accrue 120 hours (three weeks) / year.
Sick Days: Regular full-time employees accrue eight hours sick leave per month.
Paid Holidays: Eleven regular holidays per year as well as two personal holidays per year. These personal days are pro-rated based on the month hired.
Medical/Dental
Choice of Kaiser HMO plan or Sutter Health Plus HMO Deductible Plan with an employee contribution of 6% for medical coverage.
Dependent medical coverage is a shared expense: employee pays 55% of medical premium; SAF contributes 45%.
Medical coverage is effective the first of the month after the date of hire, or effective immediately for employees hired on the first of the month.
Dental coverage is offered through Guardian Dental; St. Anthony’s pays for 100% of employee coverage; Employee pays 100% of all dependent coverage.
Vision Plan with VSP included with medical plans for all employees.

Group Life Insurance (Guardian), coverage up to $100,000 free to all full-time employees.
Long Term Disability (Guardian) - free to all full-time employees.
Options for Voluntary Life and Voluntary AD&D coverage at a cost to the employee.

Employee 403(b) tax deferred contribution available immediately upon hire.
Employer contribution to OneAmerica retirement 403b plan of 5% after completion of one year and 1000 hours of service; Employer contribution is fully vested at six years of employment.

Use of employee fitness room (150 GG 5th floor).
Use of an SAF cabin located in Pollock Pines (near Tahoe) at a cost of $25 per night.

Hybrid Work: Four days working in the San Francisco office.
